The Nest is a residential subdivision in Midland County where Magrym Consulting provides civil engineering design for the overall development, including utilities, roadways, grading, and drainage, and construction management for the civil infrastructure as it is built.
Our construction management scope includes coordination and field oversight for mass grading, roadway construction, drainage improvements, and installation of the water distribution system. Magrym also coordinates the materials testing and surveying services that verify the work against the approved plans and project specifications.

Keeping Design, Construction, and Verification in One Sequence
Subdivision infrastructure is built in a strict order. Mass grading sets the pads and the drainage, roads follow the grading, and the water system goes in with the streets. When the engineer, the construction manager, the surveyor, and the testing lab are four different firms, the sequence slips at every handoff.
The developer needed one party accountable for the plans, the field decisions, and the verification that the built work matched the design, with new homes already standing along the edge of the site.

Mass grading is complete, street corridors are cut and based, and the water distribution system is going in with the roads. Each phase has been observed, staked, and tested by the same team that designed it.
